Enclosures & Winterizing

Enclose a screen porch or patio for winter without turning it into a permanent sunroom. Clear vinyl panels and Eze-Breeze systems block wind, rain, cold air, and pollen, then roll up, snap out, or slide away when you want full outdoor air again in spring, summer, and fall.

Unlike glass walls that create a room you have to cool all summer, these options keep the porch usable year-round while preserving the reason you have outdoor living space in the first place.

Enclosure options

Cord-pulley clear vinyl roll-up panels

Soft 20 mil clear vinyl with Sunbrella borders, secured to porch posts with turn screws and raised with a simple pulley. Best price point for openings about ten feet wide or less, on screened or open porches, inside or outside the framing. Wide Sunbrella border selection; DIY-friendly with phone design help when needed.

Snap-in clear vinyl curtains

Similar clear vinyl and Sunbrella construction, secured with marine snaps so panels come down for warm-weather storage. Strong fit for smaller porches, shorter openings, odd angles, and screen doors. Restaurant patio installs with irregular openings are a common use.

Manual worm-gear roll-up panels

Side tracks and a manual worm-gear operator for spans wider than ten feet (up to about 19 feet). Side seals and a bottom weight bar help keep out pollen, cold air, and rain. Lower cost than motorized systems, with powder-coated track/weight-bar colors and Sunbrella borders. A fascia can hide the reel when no cassette cover is used.

Motorized retractable clear vinyl

SOMFY-powered panels controlled by remote, wireless wall switch, or phone app. Lower for a sealed winter enclosure; roll up for fresh air. Best for fall, winter, and spring. Do not roll panels up wet. Options include Universal (Texas-made Fenestra vinyl with cassette cover), DuraScreen (dual vinyl + mesh system, long spans), and Fenetex (Florida-made 30 mil polished vinyl, dual-track mesh option, spans up to about 25 feet).

Eze-Breeze porch enclosure systems

Four-track sliding panels that create a four-season room with about 75% ventilation when panels are stacked. Tough 10 mil vinyl in clear, smoke gray, bronze, or dark gray; frames in white, bronze, or beige. Floor-to-ceiling views, kick-plate heights, transoms for tall openings, horizontal sliders, and matching doors. Panels are light, easy to clean, and removable for storage or storms (remove if winds exceed about 65 mph).
